The communication and systems group - C&S group GmbH - is a private company since November 2008 - carrying on the activities of the C&S group University as a spin off.

A staff of more than 25 highly experienced specialists in engineering and organization execute R&D-projects on 1000 m² of high standard equipped laboratories with Prof. Lawrenz as its president.

C&S group is specialized in communication and systems for automotive and industrial automation applications. Since 1984 Prof. Lawrenz has worked in the definition, development, design and test techniques for automotive protocols such as CAN = Controller Area Network, J1850, ABUS, VAN and others. Since then he has been actively contributing to international standardization organizations such as ISO and SAE, and he has accomplished international research projects such as PROMETHEUS, ESPRIT on communication protocols and system design.

Since 1995 Prof. Lawrenz and his C&S group have continued these activities - organized as a reasearch entity in the university of Applied Science in Wolfenbuettel - while concentrating mostly on tests of distributed systems communicating through protocols such as CAN, J1850, eBUS, etc. Therefore he cooperated in many projects with many automotive and automation companies and semiconductor manufacturers worldwide.

C&S group GmbH continues this dedication as a private company, with Prof. Lawrenz as president.
